New Album!

Im always terrible at keeping these kind of things up to date.

But we want to thank you all for the support, we’ve played a whole lot of amazing shows this summer, and we still have more a’comin.

Thanks to everyone that has picked up our full band album.

David Grubb has been joining me in the studio to lay down fiddle on my new solo Album, recorded at Kings Road Studio again!

We will be releasing the album for a very special show at the Gate in Cardiff on November 30th 2019! Tickets available now!

SXSW 2019

Where do I begin? what a rush, what an experience, and what a worth while trip.

We had the absolute best time performing in Austin Texas for SXSW festival. We met so many amazing people, and discovered southern hospitality isn’t some kind of a myth.

We saw such amazing music, caught up with old friends, made new friends and drank a metric shit ton of bud light.

We are grateful to the fine folks that gave us a chance, and to everyone that made a point of seeing us play, coming to extra shows, and sharing kind words upon discovering us.

We hope this is the start of something special, and that we will be back in the united stand in no time.

If you caught us play, be sure to let us know what you think of the new album.

Catch you on the road.

Wishing you the best 2019

As this year comes to a close, we just want to thank all those that gave us a chance and booked us a gig, came to a show, or took a shot at seeing us at a festival.

I also recognise that this can be a tough time of year for some, and want to extend some extra love to anyone who might be entering 2019 with less people in their lives than they started 2018. There is an emptiness that will pass, and I hope everyone has still been able to find some joy in the season. The world can be cruel and unkind, but let's all keep our chins up and work towards making this new year the best for ourselves and those around us. We are making an effort to make those we no longer have proud, hope to find pride from those we are yet to meet, and we hope you are able to find yourselves doing the same.

2018 was a rollercoaster, but we are ready to take 2019 head on.

Happy New Year, stay safe out there, and we hope to catch you along the road next year.

End of a season, and the closing of a chapter

As I sit here in my office/music space looking out the window upon the leaves that are falling, and the brisk breeze blowing them into the streets I can’t help but feel it is time for an update and some thanks.

As some know, and many do not, it has been hard year for myself and thus has been taxing on the band. I am only just back from Canada, for the 7th time this year, organising my parents estate, selling off all belongings, and my childhood home. Saying goodbye to where I grew up, re evaluating what home is, and where one is really from. Losing both my parents over a 10 month period, has left me with a hole that will never be filled, but the joy from performing music is something that can help heal - and something I never want to stop doing. Over what has felt like an eternity, I have had to schedule my time between this, work, and music.

Finally I can say that music is going to be the priority again, and along with the boys we are focusing on bringing brand new music to as many places as we can.

Somehow within all the chaos, we were able to play some amazing festivals this year, from our return to Cambridge Folk Festival, to Vikedal Roots in Norway, to the debut of Black Deer Festival; it is hard not to see the positive in what the future will bring with such unwavering support coming from the folks we have been able to perform for.

Today, I am glued to the computer and to notebooks, writing out plans for 2019, emailing venues and promoters all over Europe/UK, and reaching out to festivals with hopes of being able to bring our sound and ultimately come and party with you. We welcome any suggestions, because at the end of the day, it is you that we would like to play for.

Tomorrow, I am visiting the studio, working on our first plans, and writing up our first timeline for recording the debut of the Slim Pickin’s record.

2019 will mark my 10th year as a performer, having taken my first steps on tour with Emm Gryner across Eastern Canada. With your support, it wont be my (or our) last.

Keep an eye out for new videos and recordings, it’s time to get serious about this again.

So a personal chapter of my life is closing, but feeling less tied down, I am excited to see what this new chapter will bring. Thanks for all of your understanding.
